  • Moncarapacho, a 10-minute walk from Casa Mama Mia, is a small countryside town surrounded by orange orchards and farmland. Its relaxed, friendly atmosphere is centred on a charming cobbled square by the church, where you can enjoy a drink or a meal beneath jacaranda and palm trees, often punctuated by the church clock’s chimes. The town also provides all essential amenities, including three small supermarkets, a pharmacy and a local post office.

  • Fuseta, around 8 km from Casa Mama Mia, is a quiet fishing village in Portugal’s eastern Algarve, set beside the Ria Formosa. It offers island beaches, fresh seafood, plenty of restaurants to choose from, calm streets, and an unhurried coastal rhythm.

  • Olhão, located 10 km southeast of Faro and just 8 km from Casa Mama Mia, has grown into a popular coastal destination, with easy ferry access to the Ria Formosa National Park islands of Ilha da Armona, Ilha da Culatra, and Ilha da Farol, each offering pristine sandy beaches, traditional fishing villages, and tranquil turquoise waters.
